This past season was a busy one for our development team, as we focused on delivering the key Once Sport 2024/25 updates you asked for. Thanks to your valuable feedback, we prioritised the features that matter most, and the positive responses so far show these improvements are hitting the mark. We’re excited to share a full recap of what’s new.
Whether you’re already using Once Sport or just exploring it for the first time, now is the perfect moment to discover the latest updates. Once Sport Analyser
New Automation Features
This season, we introduced several new features designed to speed up common tasks and improve precision.
- Automatic Player Detection: A significant step forward, this feature allows the software to identify players on the field, automatically adjusting the size of drawings and tracking elements. We gradually expanded this to support all drawing elements in the software.
- Dynamic Tracking: Our animated elements, including the new Spotlight and Animated Circle, can now dynamically follow players. We also added Zoom Tracking for closer analysis of individual movements.
More Creative Tools for Visual Analysis
We added more tools to help you add detail and clarity to your analysis.
- New Animated Elements: We introduced a total of seven new animated elements during the season, providing more ways to highlight key moments.
- Picture Support: A popular request, you can now import static or overlay images into your analysis. This is useful for showing things like correct posture or adding team logos.
- Upgraded Text Editor: The text tool was updated with more formatting options (bold, italics, alignment), support for custom fonts, and new visual effects like text animations and a shine effect.
A More Efficient and Productive Workflow
Many of this season’s updates were focused on making your daily workflow more efficient.
- Cloud Support & Sharing: You can now work seamlessly with videos from online sources such as Google Drive, VEO, and more – making it easier than ever to access your footage from wherever youare.
One of our most impactful updates, Cloud Sharing, allows you to instantly share your analysis with coaches and players, improving collaboration and speeding up feedback. You can even generate a shareable link directly from the export menu, making it simple to keep everyone connected and aligned. - Background Export: You no longer have to wait for renders to finish. You can now start an export and have it run in the background while you continue to work on another project.
- A Smoother User Experience: We’ve made several upgrades to ensure Once Sport feels faster, clearer, and easier to use. A new, more reliable video player now handles high-resolution files with ease, giving you a smoother playback experience. The drawing toolbar has been enhanced with a ‘Recently Used’ section, keeping your favourite tools right at your fingertips.
And there’s more on the way — we’re currently redesigning the Main Menu to streamline your workflow, reduce unnecessary clicks, and give you quicker access to your most-used tools and projects. - A Central Hub for Your Account: This season, we introduced the new Dashboard on our website, giving you a central place to manage licences, access downloads, and check connected devices. We later gave it a complete redesign for a cleaner, more user-friendly experience. Think of this as the foundation for many more integrated services we plan to introduce in the Dashboard.
You can expect continued improvements throughout the year, including the expansion of our Cloud services and smarter integrations with other platforms and data sources. And we’re especially excited about what’s coming next: Field Mapping, one of our most requested features. Field Mapping will give you a dynamic, visual way to understand player positioning – showing distances between players, spatial patterns, and key movement trends. It’s designed to deliver deeper insights at a glance, giving your team a clearer picture of what’s happening on the pitch.
Once Sport Coach Board
Once Sport Coach Board received a lot of attention this year, with a focus on adding more flexibility for tactical planning and presentations.
- Animations and New Export Options: You can now create full animations to demonstrate plays and movements. When you’re ready to share, you can export your work as a video or a PDF file.
- More Visual Options: We added redesigned fields for football and basketball, along with new fields for Polo, Gaelic, and Australian Rules Football. With eight new player designs and the ability to import your own images, you have more options for your presentations.
- A More Integrated Workflow: To make your work smoother, Once Sport Coach Board is now fully integrated into the main Drawing Mode of Once Sport Analyser and Once Sport Telestrator, bringing your planning and analysis tools into one unified space.
Once Sport Autocam
For users filming games with a wide-angle camera, our Autocam software also received several important updates this season, making it a powerful tool for automated production.
- Live Connectivity and Streaming: A major focus was on live production. Autocam can now connect directly to a live camera feed (via RTSP) and stream the processed, broadcast-style video to platforms like YouTube, Facebook and others (via RTMP).
- AI-Assisted Setup and Performance: We made the setup process easier with automatic field mapping, which uses AI to detect the playing field. Performance also saw a significant boost, especially on newer hardware, making the entire experience smoother.
- Improved Visual Quality: To improve the final video output, we added a new 3D camera view that corrects lens distortion from wide-angle footage. This results in a more natural, professional-looking video.
