At Once Sport, we’re constantly looking to grow together with coaches, clubs, federations, and football schools across Europe. At the end of June, our team hit the road to visit Graz, Munich, and Oberhaching, where we connected with football coaches, shared Once Sport impressions, and explored exciting new partnerships.
Connecting with Austrian Coaches
Our journey began in Graz, Austria, where we met Mario Haas, former international striker and current U16 coach at Sturm Graz. With over 500 appearances and more than 160 goals for Sturm Graz, Mario is one of the most iconic figures in Austrian football history. He was part of the club’s golden era in the late 1990s, winning multiple Austrian Bundesliga titles and representing at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Throughout his international career, he earned 43 caps for the Austrian national team, scoring 7 goals.
Mario walked us through his post-match analysis workflow, and we were thrilled to hear how Once Sport fits into his routine. As someone deeply respected in Austrian football, he shared ideas on how our collaboration could potentially grow into something larger!
Later that evening, we had a fantastic meeting with Harry Sättler, who is preparing to launch an innovative football education app. His platform will offer a wide portfolio of training drills, and Once Sport will play a key role in creating video tutorials and player highlights for scouting purposes. Harry praised the intuitiveness and user-friendly design of Once Sport, which makes it easy for him to support young talents and communicate with clubs.
Exploring Munich, Connecting in Oberhaching
We kicked off the weekend in Munich, spending all of Saturday exploring the city. While we didn’t have any official meetings planned, the day was active and energising – a perfect reset before the main event of the trip.
On Sunday and Monday, we were at the BFV Jugendtrainerkongress at the Sportschule Oberhaching – the highlight of our journey. The event brought together youth coaches from across Germany, providing an ideal space to exchange ideas and showcase the Once Sport platform.
We had the pleasure of connecting with Christoph Pinke from the German Football Coaches Association (BDFL) to discuss our ongoing and future collaboration. It was also great to connect with Markus Brunnschneider from the International Football Institute (IFI). Having worked together with the Institute in the past, it was rewarding to exchange ideas again after some time.
Our stand attracted strong interest from coaches keen to improve their day-to-day workflow. We discussed everything from post-match analysis and individual player tracking to video feedback for the entire team. During the two days, we also attended insightful lectures and took part in workshops led by coaches from FC Bayern and 1860 München – a fantastic opportunity to learn and stay close to the latest coaching methods.
And of course, our roll-the-dice game added a fun and interactive twist! Many visitors walked away with Once Sport Analyser free trials and plenty of ideas on how to apply it within their coaching setup.
Gathering our thoughts
These days, across Austria and Germany reminded why we do what we do. Coaches need tools that are easy, fast, and impactful, and that’s what Once Sport is all about.
We’re grateful to everyone who made time for us on this trip. Whether it was sharing your workflow, asking a question, or just stopping by to say hi – we see you, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
