From Valladolid to Madrid: Once Sport’s Journey Through Spanish Football

From a football congress in Valladolid to visits with Athletic Club and Real Madrid, our latest trip through Spain gave us insight into different aspects of Spanish football. We met coaches and analysts, visited clubs, caught up with partners and clients, and saw first-hand how different teams are approaching video analysis and technology.
It was a trip filled with good conversations, new ideas and plenty of opportunities to keep growing Once Sport in Spanish football.
Bringing Once Sport to the III Congreso de Fútbol
Our journey started in Valladolid at the III Congreso de Fútbol, organised by Real Valladolid CF, Zenith Sports and Objetivo Analista.
The event brought together coaches, analysts and other football professionals for two days focused on learning, sharing ideas and discussing different areas of modern football.
For Once Sport, it was a great opportunity to meet professionals who work with video analysis every day and show how our tools can support their work. During the event, we also had the chance to meet with Álvaro Panedas Casado and Carlos Rodríguez García from Real Valladolid. We discussed their work, shared ideas and learned more about how video analysis is used within their environment.
Events like this are important because they allow us to speak directly with the people working in football every day. Understanding their workflows, challenges and priorities helps us continue improving our products around real coaching needs.
Learning From Different Coaching Environments
After Valladolid, we travelled to Bilbao to visit Athletic Club and meet Víctor Martín Alba, Head Coach of the women's team.
It was a great opportunity to learn more about the club's approach and how video analysis fits into their day-to-day work. Every club has its own philosophy, structure and way of working, and seeing these differences first-hand gives us a better understanding of the many ways coaches use technology as part of their preparation.
These visits are not only about showing our software. They are also about listening, asking questions and exchanging ideas with the people using video analysis every day.
The conversations we have with coaches in their own environments often give us perspectives that we simply cannot get from behind a screen. They help us understand what works, what could be improved, and where Once Sport can bring genuine value to their workflow.
A Closer Look at Analysis at the Highest Level
Our next stop was Madrid, where we had the opportunity to visit Real Madrid training facilities and meet Adrián Mondejar González and Mario Soria Amor from the goalkeeping department.
Visiting a club of this scale gave us another perspective on the level of detail and organisation that goes into modern football. Our meeting with the coaching staff gave us the opportunity to discuss their current workflows and how technology can support analysis, visualisation and tactical communication.
We also spoke about how tools such as Once Sport Analyser and Once Sport Telestrator can support coaches in preparing, analysing and communicating ideas more clearly.
For us, conversations like these are extremely valuable. Working with professionals at this level gives us a better understanding of the demands placed on modern coaching staff and helps us continue developing tools that fit naturally into real football environments.
Building on Our Collaboration With Be Magistral
We finished the trip with a meeting with our partners at BeMagistral, Aitor van den Brule Roldán and Mariano Mayoral Jaén.
Our collaboration with Be Magistral continues to grow, and this meeting was a chance to discuss new ideas, look at opportunities for the future and talk about how we can continue working together.
We would also like to congratulate Aitor on winning the Moroccan championship with Maghreb Fès.
Aitor was using Once Sport as part of his work during the title-winning campaign, making this achievement particularly special for us. Seeing Once Sport being used as part of the work that goes into a successful season is exactly why these relationships with coaches and analysts matter.

More Than Just a Trip
One of the main takeaways from the trip was seeing once again how different football environments can be while sharing many of the same challenges.
Whether we were speaking with coaches at a football congress, visiting a professional club or sitting down with one of our partners, the conversations often came back to the same goal: finding better ways to record, analyse and communicate.
At the same time, every club has its own workflow, philosophy and priorities. There is no single approach to video analysis, and that is exactly what makes these conversations so valuable.
Meeting people face-to-face allows us to better understand the reality behind the analysis process. It gives us the chance to listen to the people using our products, learn from their experiences and take those insights back into the development of Once Sport.

Looking Ahead
For us, these conversations are an important part of building Once Sport. The more we understand how coaches and analysts work, the better we can develop tools that fit naturally into their everyday workflows.
