Field Mapping

What is Field Mapping?

Field Mapping allows you to align the video view with actual pitch dimensions so you can measure static distances between players accurately.

How do I set the field dimensions?

  1. Go to Main Menu → Settings to set default dimensions.
  2. For the current action, open Settings in the mapping popup, enter Width × Height, and apply.
  3. Units are in meters (standard football pitch width is usually 68 m, length 100–105 m).

How do I add mapping points?

  1. On the 2D pitch diagram, click each dot/marker, then select the matching point in your video.
  2. Linked points must match in color.
  3. Add at least 4 pairs for basic accuracy (more pairs = better accuracy).
  4. Click Accept when done.

How do I finish mapping?

  1. Close the mapping popup by clicking the Apply button.
  2. Telestration tools that use field mapping will now be active, allowing you to measure distances.

Why do I need at least 4 pairs of points?

The system needs multiple reference points to correctly calculate the perspective and scale of the pitch. Fewer points reduce accuracy.

Can I change dimensions after mapping?

You can reopen Settings in the mapping popup and adjust the dimensions at any time before confirming. Note that the previous mapping will be reset.

Which telestration tools work with Field Mapping?

Any tool that supports distance measurements or scaled tracking will use the mapped field to display real distances (in meters).

For which sports can I use Field Mapping?

Currently, Field Mapping works only for football (soccer). More sports are under development.
